Mrs. Cartledge
Hello! My name is Mrs. Karen Cartledge and I am blessed to be joining the St. Aloysius Family for another year. Five years ago my husband was offered a wonderful opportunity to stop traveling and have a normal work week. The only catch was to move the family from our home in Charleston, SC to beautiful Southern California. Who could say no? We, along with our three boys, have fallen in love with the area (and the weather!). I am originally from Charleston and attended Catholic schools as a child. I graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in elementary education and a masters degree in curriculum instruction from Grand Canyon University. I am certified to teach in SC and have received credentials to teach in CA as well. I have taught kindergarten and first grade for nineteen years in a Catholic school and I am confidant that my experience and love for teaching will help further your child's Catholic School education.
I am looking forward to teaching your child this year. It is my goal to instill values and moral training within the context of the Catholic Church, and to help your child achieve their full potential. In order to make this a productive and excellent year for your child, I expect your support and assistance. I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
The following things will help your child have a great year:
1. Read and discuss the classroom behavior plan with them. The behavior plan is on this website.
2. Make sure that they come to school on time and prepared for the day.
3. Make sure that they know their lunch and after-school arrangements.
4. Review their homework each night.
I am looking forward to a fabulous year and I hope you are too!
God Bless,
Mrs. Cartledge
